Description

Designed by Ronald Koh, folded by me, James Lucas. The model is 8 feet long, folded from a rectangle 8.5 inches wide by 22 feet long. It has 5500 scales (folded the tedious, time-consuming way) and thus took four months to fold. The model is free-standing, with no structural supports of any kind. Completed November 4, 2009, 12:40AM. (I don't ever want to fold it again).

First of all congratulations on DD!!!! Whoo! Plus I can see why you earned one, it looks wonderfully phenomenal! The photograph simplistic but it needs to be. It renders your viewers to such a degree of awe. You can immediatly see the time and vigilant effort that was made into creationg this outstanding piece! Just the dynamics of this snake is brilliant. The vision is clear, the originalty is average. However the way it's conveyed makes up for that ten-fold. Your technique is brilliant, your a wonderful craftman. Seeing how it stands alone with needed support is a tricky thing. The impact alone is impressive, however perhaps a different colored background. Only so that your creation will pop-out more, only to enhance it, but still have it be the main focus in this composition.

All in all this was a piece that I felt compelled me to write this critique.

(NOTE) This is my first critique, so I apologize if I happen to ramble.
